Bespoke repackaging and branding of Jefferson's Ocean.
While aboard the ship of a fellow Kentucky native a wild idea as born. Whiskey swirls in glasses, compelled by the constant rock of the waves,.What might happen to a barrel of bourbon if it were aged at sea? The rest is history.
The caramelizing of the sugars in the barrel combined with the constant motion of the ship resulted in a dark bourbon with a briny, savory taste aged beyond its years.
This new packaging refers back to the ink and quill letters and documents sent across the ocean and their stories. The unique bottle shapes are purposely sturdy and flowy instead of a regular rounded whiskey bottle to further emphasize the unpredictability of the distillation process at sea. The map embossed in the bottle is reminiscent of topographical maps and tracks where the batch has been aged at sea.
